| Ok, maybe I'm weak... but whenever I see English-related stuff, I can't help but join! So, I'm Lyra Sullyvan (but not really, I mean, that's not the name I use IRL, obviously), I'm currently 24yo (that kind of stuff has the annoying trend of changing all the time) and am in my last months of studying speech therapy, in Liège (Belgium). But you should know that I'm French and am planning to go back to my country as soon as I graduate, even if Belgium is a lovely country! So.. apart from that, I discovered this little place because (thanks to ?  ) Max Hell annoys me with it on twitter (  ). I really enjoy spending time in the UK whenever I can. Haven't tried the US for now, but it may change pretty soon because my big brother is leaving France to live there because his girlfriend is American. I'm kind of (or should I say "a total") bookaholic too, as some of you. Both in French and in English. I watch a lot of tv shows (in English, with ou without English subtitles, depending on how hard it is to understand the different accents, but usually I'm find without any subtitles), movies too when I have time (which is not something I have in abundance lately). And for now.. that is all! | |

I do watch TV shows and movies in english too, most of the time without any subtitles. But, as you do, when I need subtitles, I choose english ones, in order to be totally immerse and not think in French at all Hope to see you often here and share many and much with you | |

| Thanks  I usually need subtitles for accents I'm not really used to, or people speaking too fast about complicated stuff. Like, in Doctor Who, usually I try without first, but when Matt Smith is explaining a complex something, and since he speaks really fast, I need to rewatch with subtitles to understand it. And it's a show where they are people coming from all the UK. If I'm used to different accents of the UK, thanks to this show and some other (Merlin, Hope Springs, IT crowd, ..), sometimes there's accents I've never or barely heard before, so I need time to adapt. ^^ | |

| Hi Lyra, I can't totally relate about the subtitles. If it's too strong of a British accent, I'll either have to watch it twice or turn the subtitles on! I'm usually lazy and just turn the subtitles on. | |
